All About Ring Making
Ring Making with metal clay is a tricky job, especially ring sizing, due to shrinkage. Having a huge experience in making and selling rings since 2012 in my Etsy shop, I am ready to share my secrets.
In my presentation I will explain all about the correct sizing according to the ring style, ring design and I will share tables ready to use by attendees. Also I will show how to upsize or downsize fired metal clay rings.
I will demonstrate how to make different ring joints for durability and an economical way to make ring mandrels at home.
Presenter – Meropi Toumbas, Cyprus
Meropi Toumbas is a jewellery designer from Cyprus, who has developed her own style and signature pieces using metal clay.
She qualified as a certified Art Clay Senior Instructor in 2008, when she also started running her own Meropis Art School of Jewellery.
In 2012, she became a New Mokume Gane Certified Instructor and in December of the same year, she started an Etsy e-shop. Meropi has also taught masterclasses in Europe, she is an active member of AMCAW and taught a master class at Sinter 2024.
