Presentation: Sculpting Techniques for Metal Clay

Presenter: Katie Baum

Many of us struggle with designing and making our pieces more dimensional and getting away from the basic flat pendant or earring style. While sculpting may be difficult to do on the tiniest of scales for many artists, the invent of reliable base metal clays has brought opportunities for us to be able to practice and work with less expensive metals on a larger scale. And, while base metals are not always sought after as jewelry, the ability to make something slightly larger with a little more personality or even function opens up even more doors for us as artists to expand our repertoires and reach even more potential new students, customers, and audiences.
